February Devotional
In case you haven't noticed it yet,
life is not perfect
and sometimes bad things happen to perfectly good
people! If you are anything at all like me,
from time to time you have had to ask the questions,
"Is bad stuff part of God's will for my life?!" "Does
God send ‘bad stuff' into the lives of His children?
What is
God's will for your life? God's will is what he desires or what
he wants in the life of his children. As a parent, there resonates
an objection to the idea that a loving Father would randomly send tragedy or
evil into the lives of His children.
"Or
what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him
a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will
he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to you children,
how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those
who ask Him!" Matthew 7: 9 – 11
Can
I share with you what I believe makes God ... well ... what makes Him God!
God, because
He is all-loving, all-powerful, all-knowing and all-wise, takes every last
morsel of the bad that happens to us while we are living in this sinful world,
and turns it into glorious good!
God takes the stuff that comes at us because people
make wrong choices and turns it into your finest
hour! Only God!
God is not unaware of the fact that we do have an
enemy who has come to steal and to kill and to destroy
but triumphantly God is able to transform the devil's
plunder into a season of power and purpose in your
life. Only God!
God can even take the trash in your life and miraculously
turn it into treasure! He takes something that
has the potential to harm you and revolutionizes
it into one of the greatest blessings of your entire
life. Only God!
God is able
to take a weapon that the enemy has pointed straight at you and to divinely
change the ammunition in that weapon from life-stealing to life giving! Only
God! He changes Satan's gun powder from a poison into a vitamin! Only
God!
Your
heavenly Father takes the very worst moment in your
life and re-writes the ending so that you always
walk in triumph ... never in defeat. Only God can
turn the direction of your life so that you have a
comeback from your setback! Only God!
