July Devotional
Are you free? Are you truly free? Or do you still
struggle with bondage in your life?
July is the month when America pauses from its busyness
to celebrate freedom! We celebrate with parades and
fireworks ... with picnics and brass bands ... with
sparklers and patriot hymns. As a Christians ... how
do we celebrate our freedom?!
When the young American colonies were trying to break
free from England, they had to deal with the tyrant,
King George. King George was relentlessly diligent
in attempting to keep America in financial, religious
and political bondage under his rule and reign. The
colonial soldiers were forced to fight a bloody battle
and at last sign the glorious Declaration of Independence!
There is a tyrant whose sole purpose is to keep you
in bondage to sin and to slavery. His name? Not King
George but satan. Satan is relentless in his attempt
to convince the children of God that they are not
free but that that are locked up by his chains of
sin and depression. The good news is that the blood
has already been shed in your battle for independence
- Jesus shed His blood so that you could live a life
of freedom and liberty! Your declaration of independence?
The Word of God! It is His truth that will set you
free as a citizen of Christ's Kingdom on earth.
Now ... let the celebration begin!! How will you celebrate
your freedom from that whipped dog, satan?! By singing
and dancing ... with rejoicing and praise! It's time
to let the world know that he Whom the Son sets free
is free indeed!
